Damon's Birthday Weekend, 2015

Albert Einstein: "Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death."

So we're still binge streaming the t.v shows I told you about before but we've finally finished Dexter.  I didn't care for the ending but I won't ruin it for any of you in case you haven't watched it.  As far as our Best Picture Oscar winning movies, this week we watched A Man for All Seasons (1966). It felt more like a stage play than a feature film, so if your interested in watching something about King Henry VIII and Thomas Moore, I suggest the series, The Tudors, instead.

Okay let's get down to it!  Damon's birthday is March 2nd but we're planning on going to Tulsa next weekend so I'm proclaiming this weekend, Damon's birthday weekend!

Damon met me in town and we headed to Tavola (again, thank you Brandi for the gift certificate).  The place is nice and the food was good but it's a bit pricey for sure!  We had a good dinner, drove around the downtown square a bit and headed back home to Winslow!

We drove separate cars and on the way home..... We both slid on the ice and got stuck in a ditch!  We made it almost all the way home, but both slid into ditches only about a half mile from home, which I think makes it worse.  Our little hill was a solid sheet of ice and we both got about half way up and then started sliding back down it and lost control.  Damon could have gotten his car out but with my car being high centered so close to him, we didn't want to risk it.  Thank God for great neighbors who came and helped us out of the ditch and even let us park my car at their house until the next day.

So that whole ordeal took a couple hours out of our night. We were freezing our butts off so we headed home, had a few cocktails, warmed up and just hung out.

Saturday, I took Damon back out to Bentonville and we had lunch at Table Mesa.  The food was awesome!  We tore into our food before I could snap a picture but Damon had a green chile burger and I had a Chicken Chimi.  Both were really, really good!!!  Better than and cheaper than their sister restaurant, Tavola (where we ate dinner last night).  After lunch, we headed over to Peal Mansion to take a tour, the house is really beautiful.  I love old houses, especially big, victorian-ish ones!

After, we head home to watch a marathon of one of Damon's favorite miniseries,  Hornblower, an A&E miniseries starring Ioan Gruffudd.  After a few hours of that, we start getting hungry and I let Damon watch his show and I got to cooking!  I started his dinner out with a nice glass of wine and a Cesar salad.

Then I finished that off with a nice filet mingon steak and homemade deep fried macaroni and cheese balls!  Dinner was yummy if I say so myself!

Sunday, we finished up Hornblower while eating our leftover steak with fried egg and biscuits, YUM!!!  Sunday night, for dinner, we had pop in the oven frozen junk food while we watched The Walking Dead.

Happy birthday to my hubby, I love you sweety and I had a wonderful weekend celebrating you!

Next week we'll be heading to Tulsa to celebrate birthdays with Damon's family weather dependent!!
