Albert Einstein, "The question that sometimes drives me hazy; Am I or the others crazy?"

So we had some super windy weather the other day which of course, knocked out our power.  We went a little over 24 hours before it came back, on but thankfully we didn't lose hardly any food.  We had a couple chicken breasts that we had already thawed and had in the fridge to eat for dinner last night, they were probably okay but we didn't want to risk it when it comes to chicken so we tossed them.

Anyway, here's some of the wind damage around Winslow.

We didn't get too much damage in our yard but we did lose quite a few small limbs.

Now, on to dinner.  We made Stuffed Chicken Breasts.  We took two chicken breasts, sliced them open and stuffed them with diced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, we breaded them with panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, then we baked them for about 40 minutes.  We might have overstuffed the chicken but you can never have too much cheese, right?  We also made some pan fried squash and onion on the side.

Dinner was awesome and now we're going to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and watch Repentance with Forrest Whitaker.

                                Happy Friday everyone!

Mother Teresa said, "Life is a game - play it.  Life is too precious, do not destroy it."

It's Friday Night in Winslow ya'll!

I have been meaning to deep clean our fridge and freezer for a few months now.  It was part of my "spring cleaning" list that never got done, so I thought we'd just do tonight and get it off our list!

Terribly fun, right?  We live in Winslow, there isn't much going on Friday nights so you have to entertain yourself.

Anyway, we pulled everything out of the fridge and freezer and cleaned everything and reorganized.  We have a "to-use" shelf in our fridge and freezer, it's a good way to make sure we use up open stuff or cut vegetables before they go bad.  So if you don't have a system in place for this, you definitely should.  By using this system we hardly ever have to throw food out, because we can easily see what needs to be used up and we can then build our weekly dinner menu around it and eat it up before it goes bad!

Back to organized, just how I like it!

After we finished up we went through my Harp's game pieces, I kid you not I probably got a hundred game pieces this week and didn't get a single freaking new game piece!  Seriously, is Harp's even printing all the pieces?  I'm literally one game piece away from winning everything and I just keep getting the same pieces over and over again.

And, here are all my duplicates.  This isn't even counting a stack I gave away!

Happy Friday!

Mark Twain wrote, "Of all the animals, man is the only one that is cruel.  He is the only one that inflicts pain for the pleasure of doing it."

It's finally Friday!!!  I couldn't be happier that it's the weekend! Tonight, we gave the dogs a bath which can be a real chore. The dogs always look so pathetic, almost like they think we're torturing them!  Molly Brown looked like a drown rat and Strider just looked terrified!

Anyway, after the doggies got their baths, we made some dinner. Yummy Pea Pesto Pasta, don't let all the green fool you, it was delicious!  It was a recipe we had done before but this time we tweaked it a little and it made it so much better.  Pretty healthy dish too, lots of peas, cherry tomatoes, and baby spinach!

After dinner, we started our Fast and Furious marathon but it's getting late so we'll have to finish up tomorrow!

Happy Friday all!

Independence Day, 2014!

Nelson Mandela, "There is no such thing as part freedom."

Happy Fourth of July to everyone!!

So tonight we worked the concession stand at Winslow's Annual Firework show!  All proceeds go to Winslow Community Meals to continue to provide hot meals to our community, so if you came out, I hope you enjoyed it!

For such a small town, Winslow has always (since we've lived here anyway) put on an amazing firework display, and this year was just as amazing!  I filmed it on my phone though I missed the beginning of it, enjoy!!

Afterwards, we came home and set some of our own little fireworks off.  We had a lot of fun tonight!

After that we got on www.dealdash.com, today was the first time we had been on the site.  We are still a little skeptical but they were having some special today that you only had to pay for your bids (you have to buy bids in order to place a bid and each bid placed, raises the cost of the item by one penny), normally you have to pay the final sale price when you win, in addition to whatever you paid for your bids.  Today you only pay one penny plus whatever you spent on your bids.  We spent $30.80 on bids, $0.05 on our wins, and won $83.00 worth of gift cards and merchandise.  So, basically, we SCORED!!!  We're going to check it out and when they aren't doing the special and see if it's just as awesome but that'll be another Friday Night in Winslow.

Enjoy your freedom!

Author, James T. Mccay, "Tomorrow, you promise yourself, will be different, but tomorrow is too often a repetition of today."

This week just seemed to really drag on, I am soooo glad it's Friday!

I know this is Friday Night in Winslow but I had to share what I saw on my way to work this morning....

How cute.... But I swear I almost killed myself trying to stop for them because I was going about 60MPH down the road, when they decided to cross!  So I had to do a quick check to make sure I still looked fabulous in my hat...

And, after work I had to do some shopping.  I am still trying to win Harp's Summer Game, the $250,000 of course.  Anyway, I was walking down an aisle in search of something that I had a coupon for and I saw this......

Pickled Eggs, really???  This is funny because for some reason Damon and I were talking about this the other day, how they used to be in bars or gas stations, I thought why in the world would anybody want to eat a pickled egg?  It must taste like a dirty sock!

Today seems to be the day of pictures, so here we go again, on my way home from work....

You have got to love living in the country and seeing wildlife all the time!!  At last, I finally get home to see that my silly dog, Strider, decided to hang out in the rain all day instead of staying in his dog house....

Can anyone say drowned rat??  Don't feel sorry for him, he purposely got out in the rain to make us feel sorry for him and let him in, it didn't work.

After all this excitement, we made some dinner and watched The Book Thief, not a happy ending like I like in my movies but still a pretty good movie!  We're hitting it early tonight because we have a friend coming over tomorrow and we are cooking a little birthday dinner for her. That's it for me, goodnight all!

If you can't enjoy today, you'll never enjoy tomorrow!

Martin Luther King, Jr., "Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation.  The foundation of such a method is love."

We helped out with our friends rehearsal dinner tonight.  We made like 90 dinner rolls and two dozen cupcakes and helped with the dinner set-up and decorating where we could.  They had an amazing group of family and friends, everyone we met made us feel like part of the family!

I think it was like 54 people coming to the dinner (I thought putting on Thanksgiving dinner for our families was a chore), but they had a lot of help and A LOT of food!  Meatloaf, ham, chicken legs and breasts, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, greens, pinto beans, black eyed peas, cornbread and rolls, veggie salad and regular salad, oh my!  They also had a mess of deserts too, including homemade ice cream which was awesome!

Anyway, I think everything went really well.  We started later than I think they intended to, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and we had a good time too!

I didn't think to take any pictures but here's a couple from the wedding on Saturday.

Congratulations to the bride and groom!
