Pablo Picasso, "It takes a long time to become young."

So today is my birthday, I am 33 years young.  I figure since I hit thirty I should start the "years young" instead of years old even if I really don't feel any older!

Last year, on my birthday, I did an inventory of who I am.  I call it my 50 shades, yes I read the book and saw the movie. No, I am not ashamed to admit that.  Anyway, here is my list for this year, it's funny how some have changed and while I could keep going and those ones that fell off the list probably would have made it back on, I consider my 50 shades the first 50 that I think of, as those are closer to who I am and what I do and enjoy.  Check out last years and while your at it, make your own list of 50!

My Birthday Weekend 2015

Naveen Andrews: "If you don't take the chance to live life, what can you say at the end of it?"

We're still watching our Best Picture Oscar winning movies, this week we watched Annie Hall (1977) and I don't know why Diane Keaton was in so many of these Oscar winning movies when she was young.  I just don't like her, she's awkward and uninteresting, though I do have much more appreciation for her when she got older.  The movie was just slow and not something I'd watch again, bucket list or not.  Next up we watched Deer Hunter (1978) which Damon said was such a great movie.  Again, I didn't get it.... I mean, I did get what the movie was about, I got it to that extent, I just don't get why it won an Oscar.  Some of these movies make me wonder what the hell they were up against, because the runners up had to just be the most horrible movies ever made!  Love Robert De Niro and it was crazy to see Christopher Walken so young, the movie had kind of a crappy ending, not one of my favorites, sorry honey!

Now.... It's my birthday, AGAIN!!!!

Damon gave me a crossword puzzle with my clues for this evenings festivities.  I finished pretty quickly if I do say so myself. It included hints like "your a winner, you have high score" and the answer turned out to be video games in the crossword, and the clue "zap, you've been hit" answer turned out to be laser tag in the puzzle, and the clue "they're spicy" turned out to be Chili's

So there you go, we went to Locomotion and played video games and some laser tag!  Had a big time playing games but I'll tell you half the games in that place are broke down, they need to invest some money in fixing the place up for sure!!  Still, we had a lot of fun and it was our first time going there.  Afterwards, we had some dinner and drinks at Chili's, though I was pretty upset they got rid of my crispy chicken tacos, I Had a hell of a good burger instead. Yea me!!!

Saturday, I got another crossword puzzle, and one of the clues just blew my mind.... try to figure this one out "Created when: due to excess direct and indirect heating, internal moisture molecules confined within the hull convert into much larger and lighter gaseous molecules, thereby causing excess pressure to develop within the hull until critical mass is achieved when the hull violently ruptures exposing the internal materials."...... Seriously, I was way too hung over to even consider a possible answer to that one.  SO, I moved on to some others that lead me to find out that we'd be going bowling, catching a movie, having lunch at P.F. Chang's, and Damon was going to cook me steak and risotto for dinner at home, along with making some chocolate covered strawberries and apples for dessert!! Again, yea me!!!

We had a great day and in the evening we had some wine and watched the birds and the pretty Winslow sunset from our patio. I'm always so frustrated that we don't take the time to enjoy our property and the outdoors so I am glad we had perfect weather for this!  Another wonderful day thanks to my hubby!!

Here's my yummy dinner, Cesar salad, filet mingon, and creamy green pea risotto, along with our second batch of homemade wine......YUM!!!!

Sunday, Damon made me breakfast in bed of French toast and a Greek omelet and I got to watch girly movies and then The Lord of the Rings marathon!

My weekend is coming to close with another yummy dinner my husband made for me.... an appetizer of fresh homemade bread with homemade pesto and homemade marinara dipping sauces, then the main course was homemade 4 cheese ravioli in a homemade marinara sauce!

Feeling truly blessed!!

Voltaire: "God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well."

We're still watching our Best Picture Oscar winning movies, this week we finished the Rocky movies.  I know they are classic and iconic and what not, but is it just me but is the best part of the movies the music???  Seriously, we should have just watched the first one because it was on the list but really, I think the best music was from the second one.

Again, I know it's not Friday Night in Winslow, rather Saturday in Tulsa but we headed to Tulsa this morning to celebrate Damon and mines birthdays with my family.

Today, we had a cookout at my Mom's house, lots of yummy food, presents, and cheesecake, chocolate cake, and white cake.  Who could ask for more!!

Yea!!!!! Happy Birthday to us!!!  Thanks to everyone, we love you!!

Tomorrow we're going to have lunch with Damon's parents, and I get to eat Ron's cheese fries..... Life is good!

Until next time!!

April 11th, 2015

Winston Churchill: "We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give."

We're still on watching our Best Picture Oscar winning movies.  This week we watched One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975).  A pretty good movie overall, Jack Nicholson is just a for real nut job so he's usually pretty fun to watch!

I know it's not Friday Night in Winslow, rather Saturday afternoon but we had a lot of work to get done today and have had a busy week so we just didn't feel like a mystery bag challenge last night!

Anyway, today we went down to the non-profit we volunteer for to refurbish their old marquee sign.  We did a damn good job if I do say so myself!  take a look for yourself!

Here it is before:

And while we worked on it:

And finally, when we were done:

Now that that's over, we're off to whip us up some dinner and then watch our next Oscar winning  movie, Rocky (1976) and even though they didn't win any Oscars, we're going to watch the rest of the Rocky movies too, yeah, all twenty thousand of them (or however many they made).
Happy Friday everyone!!
